Twitter notifications from the system tray Twittalert is small Twitter client application that runs in the system tray and automatically notifies you of new tweets that appear in your Twitter timeline. The tweets are neatly displayed as small pop-ups on your desktop and will automatically fade away after a few seconds. The program supports image tweets and retweets and offers an option to mark specific tweets as favorites so you can quickly access then later. Twittalert will automatically suspend notifications when your computer is idle (e.g. because you stepped away) and resume when you come back
